The set is usually silent, which does not mean it is entirely non-communicative, as it participates decisively in the construction of the multiple meanings of a performance. It can be said to be on stage, but if we think of it as the product of an artistic creation — scenography — it can often be said that it is the scene itself. And could it be that, beyond this, it also directs? Taking advantage of the exhibition "Aplauso — 40 anos" at the Museu Nacional do Teatro e da Dança, celebrating the performing arts and the inescapable fact that exhibiting theatre is also exhibiting scenography, we have invited the scenographers most prominently featured in the exhibition to speak about these questions and about their creative processes. They will be accompanied by interlocutors who know their careers well and who have — as we hope the audience will too — many questions to ask and curiosities to satisfy. A conversation organised by APCEN in collaboration with the Museu Nacional do Teatro e da Dança.
