The XII National Meeting of APCEN, entitled "Theatre in Times of Pandemic," was organised around three reflection panels addressing the impact of the crisis on the performing arts from different angles. The first panel focused on creation in adversity from an international perspective, featuring contributions by the Greek scenographer Mayou Trikerioti and the Brazilian Aby Cohen. The second session centred on the Portuguese reality, bringing together professionals such as Cláudia Ribeiro, Fernando Alvarez, Igor Gandra, and José Manuel Castanheira to discuss the writing of the scene in a pandemic context. Finally, the third panel was dedicated to the analysis of presence and absence in confined spaces, taking as its basis the re-creation of Antonin Artaud's conference "The Theatre and the Plague," carried out by John Romão and Salomé Lamas. This last session included the screening of the performance, which was originally recorded in empty theatres, followed by a debate with the creators and the artistic director Patrícia Portela.
