For PQ19, APCEN developed a project that sought to establish from the outset an idea of return — a path to be taken in both directions, which is to say "to go and come back." Projecting Portugal and Portuguese Scenography onto the international stage, without losing sight of the return of the gaze and of the experiences lived. APCEN held a National Meeting entirely dedicated to sharing the experiences and results of its presence at PQ19 with its associates, current and future, where it aimed, on the one hand, to give national visibility to the international dimension of Portuguese Scenography, and on the other, to continue the reflection around the themes proposed for this edition of PQ — IMAGINATION / TRANSFORMATION / MEMORY. In this edition, PQ defined its artistic concept drawing inspiration from its most important prize, the Golden Triga, in which three horses pull a chariot symbolising the three stages of life — the intuition of youth, the experience of adulthood, and the wisdom of old age — and metaphorically, PQ suggests, the three areas linked to the cyclical phases of the creative process: Imagination, Transformation, and Memory.
