Joana Saboeiro

Born in Lisbon, she began her connection to theatre and the arts while attending António Arroio and theatre courses. In 2010, she completed her Master's degree in Architecture at IST, with the thesis "Lugares Mutáveis - Arquitectura e cenografia do Teatro O Bando." She worked with O Bando and with Rui Francisco, solidifying her interest in the relationship between architecture and scenography. She assisted in scenography for both theatre and television, notably on "ARTE" UAU and the television programme "Brainstorm" SP / RTP - 2017. In 2022, she was part of the art direction team of the Portuguese crew for the film "Fast & Furious X."

In 2022, she was part of the art direction team of the Portuguese crew for the film "Fast & Furious X."
In 2011, as an actress, she joined the Holofote group and founded the theatre company NOC, where she is responsible for scenic spaces, notably "Entre Este e o Outro" in 2013 and "Os Piratas" in 2017.
In the field of Performance Photography, highlights include "Ainda Não é O Fim" and "Jangada de Pedra" - Teatro O Bando; "Noturnos" and "Torcicolo" - GTT.
In 2014, she designed the decoration of the parking areas at C.C. Allegro in Setúbal. In 2016, she collaborated on the design of the EDP street at the NOS ALIVE festival. In 2018, she created the scenography and costumes for the play "Eu Salazar" - Teatrão. In 2019, she collaborated on the design of several awards galas, notably the Globos de Ouro Gala 2019 - SIC, the Prémios Sophia Gala - RTP, and the PLAY Awards Gala - Portuguese music awards - RTP, which she continues to develop annually.
Between 2020 and 2022, she created several costume designs for the company Hiperion, notably "Uma fina camada de gelo," "Filoctetes," and "Uma ilha." In 2022, she designed the scenography and costumes for the show "O Horla" - Companhia Cepa Torta, and between 2021 and 2023 she was responsible for the scenography of several productions for the company Caixa de Palco, notably "Viúva e o Papagaio," "Pedro Alecrim," and "O Príncipe Nabo."
In 2024, she designed the scenography for the show "As Pess@s de Fernando" by the company Gericardo, with whom she currently collaborates.
She continues to develop work in Scenography for Theatre and Television, Art Direction, and Architecture. She is part of the current Board of APCEN - Associação Portuguesa de Cenografia.
