Dora Sales

Dora Sales (Brasília, 1999) is a Brazilian scenographer, visual artist, and actress, residing in Portugal since 2019. Her practice intersects performance, scenic construction, and spatial composition, exploring materiality as a dramaturgical driving force. Between stage and workshop, she develops work where body, space, and matter contaminate one another, creating atmospheres that inhabit the scene as much as the performers themselves.

She works in theatre, performing arts, and installation, collaborating with organisations such as Teatro O Bando, Teatro Nacional Dona Maria II, Teatro Extremo, and various independent artists and collectives. She is part of the artistic direction of Coletivo Galateia and is the founder of Grupo CRU, where she develops original projects that articulate creation, scenography, and performance.

She has designed scenographies, performances, and scenic devices presented in Lisbon, Brasília, Porto, Guimarães, Setúbal, and Maputo. Her work is situated between scenography, performance, sculpture, and drawing, investigating the relationships between body, space, and matter.
