Catarina Fernandes

Originally from Portimão. She holds a Master's degree in Performing Arts from Escola Superior de Artes e Música do Espectáculo in Porto, a degree in Scene Design from Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema in Lisbon, and professional training in Scenography, Costume Design, and Props at Escola Profissional Chapitô. Her trajectory unfolds at the intersection of the performing arts, visual arts, and community work, seeking to transform spaces into "places of listening," promoting sharing and encounter through materiality. In the fields of scenography and costume design, she highlights her collaborations with A Bolha - Companhia de Teatro com Marionetas, Companhia de Atores, GTT - Grupo de Teatro Terapêutico do Hospital Júlio de Matos, KILIG - Teatro, Circo e Cinema, Teatro O Bando, and Soif Totale (Belgium).

She currently serves on the board of APCEN - Associação Portuguesa de Cenografia, and continues her research on "scenography as a place of discovery," observing scenography as a field that inhabits an elastic, listening-sensitive web, where memory, objects, and spaces actively participate in an individual and collective process of resignification.
